Fitness Cheerleader Janice is at it again for today's challenge question:
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I can't help but humming to myself the Tim McGraw song "My Next 30 Years" while I write this! It has actually been stuck in my head all night too. I'm sharing it with you so you can get it stuck in yours. Your welcome! When I started thinking about this question for myself I could help but think about it in relation to the last 10 years of my life. If I could make an analogy between my life and driving a car, I would say the past 10 years I have driven with my foot on the accelerator. 10 years ago I was 23 (You can do the math)....in my second year as a teacher...just started dating my husband...living on my own without roommates...and relatively new at this running gig! My entire life has been marked by determination to reach my goals and the last 10 years were all about that! I became a wife, mom, established teacher, college professor, homeowner, and avid runner.
Going back to that driving analogy, I would hope my during my next 10 years I can put the car on cruise control and enjoy the blessings around me. Not to say I don't have goals for these next 10 years. So here they are!
Family
- Raise 2 healthy, caring girls who love the Lord and their family with my husband. (It would be nice if they could love running too but whatever they love I will make it happen for them! It blows my mind that in 10 years Em will be 13 and our lady on the way will be 10....oh boy the tears are already coming!
- Spend time soaking in our blessings with my best friend my hubby!
- Spend more time with friends and family.
Life
- Fine tune the teacher I am today in order to help my students as much as I can. Each year and each group of students gives me new challenges. I hope to continue to help them become the best version of themselves.
- Find a church family to be a part of.
- Learn to let go of things and just be more often!! (Something that is hard to do after having your foot on the accelerator for 10 years!)
Fitness
- Run two marathons....Yep I put it out there!
- Run a sub 1:50 half marathon
- Maintain a healthy weight and an even healthier lifestyle that I can share with my friends and family
- Be creative...find fun in all areas of fitness
Now it's your turn:
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Hmm, this one I'll have to think about but your next 10 year goals are amazing! love the 2 marathons, you little motivator! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteAs for me, of course I want to cherish all moments in life, especially the little ones...they seem to matter most! Spend time with my husband and boys...they are MY LIFE! Focus on healthy living for my entire family, never be selfish and always put all of us first!
love that you have us thinking 10 year goals with this post, thanks...it'll help me explore options!!!
Love this post what a great idea, I think I'll do this for myself! Just won't publish it :-) It's good to keep your goals in mind and this is a good way to do it!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that Tim McGraw song!
ReplyDeleteI hope to start my own family in the next 10 years. I would like to be married with kids and enjoy life! In terms of running, I would like to finish the Goofy Challenge and one day run the marathon in sub 4 hours.
