Is there something you are avoiding doing because of that feeling you get being the beginner in the room? For me it's CrossFit...it looks awesome...it looks bada$$...it looks like something I would love to do. But then again I don't like being the beginner at things! This however is the perfect reminder. Those people in those boxes (that is what they're called right?) once started off as beginners. Those runners towing the line at those races were once beginners. It's a challenge and it may feel uncomfortable but allow yourself to be a beginner...you never know. You may find yourself being excellent!!!
Excellent advice!
ReplyDeleteCF is awesome! You should give it a try :) Just like with people in any situation, if one group ("box") isn't your type try another - we're not all the same. There are 2 preggo mamas at my box and I love seeing them workout.
ReplyDeleteGreat advice!! I say, go for it!!!
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing regarding a triathlon...been a huge "wanna do" for me but chicken out every time :-(
I think I would love CF, I just wish it didn't cost 93 dollars a month to join my local one, too expensive for me!
ReplyDeleteGreat quote. Thanks for sharing it :)
ReplyDeleteYou're so right! I'd be a beginner at crossfit too, still want to try it eventually!
ReplyDeleteGreat quote! So true.
ReplyDeleteVery true!!! Great motivation to start out on a Monday Morning, we all start as beginners. If we never try something because of this reason, then we will never accomplish anything.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great reminder. It's true - we all start out as beginners.
ReplyDeleteI am going to do a Body Pump class on Tuesday for the first time and I really needed this today! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteIt's always great to try something new to be reminded of this and to watch our kids grow and learn from new things every day!
ReplyDeleteGreat reminder and so true! I keep saying I'm going to try CrossFit but somehow haven't gotten around to it yet ;)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, my poor lonely guitar that keeps taunting me from its corner. I want to be able to immediately bang out some cool tunes, but alas, may have to do what all beginners do: start with "Mary Had a Little Lamb" :)
ReplyDeleteFor me it's Yoga and Cross Fit. I don't want to be the beginner in the back of the class who is lost!
ReplyDeleteI have been dealing with this and the free weight area at the gym. It's full of people who are already all tone and muscle-y. I am NOT tone but need to be and am for sure a beginner.
