I've used this quote before but I feel that I am at this point again with my fitness. Yesterday I went out on a long run...12 miles which is my longest run this training cycle. Knowing the hills I have waiting for me in New Bedford I met them head on today. I pushed the pace...pushed myself...pushed my limits. In my weight training...in my running...with my eating...I'm done with good. I know that great is waiting for me to go and get it...and I'm coming for you!
What good are you ready to give up for great?
That's an awesome quote! Go get it girl.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great quote! You can't get to great without having some perspective. For me, it's giving up selfish desires for thingsI know are worth waiting for!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Way to tackle that mileage...I did 10 and it felt great ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat job Amy!!!
Deleteoooh.
ReplyDeletegood, errr, GREAT point.
I need to ponder this.
Awesome, Nancy!! I won't be at that point in my training for many months, but I look forward to watching you go after it!
ReplyDeleteI love this quote, I am not training for a PR so for me I am using it as my fuel to stay on track and be the best me possible :)
ReplyDeleteI know I need to focus on the food to get to great, just not sure if I'm really willing to give up all the "good" stuff (that's not really good for you, you know what I mean!). Monday's are my favorite day of the week to get back to the routine after my "wicked weekend" *Ü* http://jenbsjourney.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen! Yes I love starting off Monday with a bang!
DeleteI've enjoyed this quote myself a time or too. It's good to remember to get that little extra push you need to keep on keeping on. :)
ReplyDeleteone of my favorite running quotes. not sure what good i'm going to give up yet as i'm still fine tuning what I want, but whatever it is, i know it will be worth it
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite quotes!!! Go after it girl!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that quote. Way to push hard through your long run!
ReplyDeleteFor me, my "good" has been my motivation to exercise but my nutrition is definitely not great... I am now giving up living "good" to pursue great by learning to crave God instead of unhealthy foods! I'm going through a study called "Made to Crave" right now and it's helping me to understand WHY I choose unhealthy food options and how God can change me :)
Oh I love that quote too!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from the Motivation Monday blog hop :)
