Monday Motivation

Lately this year I have been feeling off...like something was missing...something was just not right.  I have goals...I'm working toward them...the time is clicking by but there is just a piece missing.  Until this weekend I wasn't quite sure what it was...it's the journey.  With no race on the schedule until June I am feeling lost.  I LOVE training for races...the focus...the plan...doing what I need to do each day...the joy.  Yes I do find joy in my life in other ways but this joy has been missing.  Don't get me wrong, the finish line rocks my socks off but there is just something about that journey to the starting line that really fills me up!  Don't overlook the joy in the journey...stay focused on the finish but don't miss what gets you there!!

Do you like the training or the finish better?

  1. YES!!! Coach Taylor from friday night lights always reminds me of this too :-)
SUCCESS IS NOT THE END GOAL JUST A BY PRODUCT.

  3. I was missing races too so I signed up for a 7K. Back to SurfSet today though :)

  4. I love having a race to train form and I love running races, so fun to have all those people around to run with, but sometimes I really just love being able to just run to run like I did most of the winter.

  5. I am so much more motivated when I have a race to train for. I don't need to have a lot of races on the calendar, but having one can be enough to get me out there when I am not feeling so great. So I guess the answer to your question is..the journey!

  6. Definitely the finish! I get bored easily and sometimes training for anything gets old fast. I need to work on that.

  7. Having a race planned keeps me focused. It gives me something to look forward to so a plan helps. Whether I stick to it or modify it, it's my journey and feels great when I write it down in my now-called "fitness journal". Love that pic.....💝 Good stuff.
