This morning's drive to work was similar to this:
Why?? (said in my best whiny voice) Our running group meets on Wednesdays. I kid you not almost every Wednesday has had rain. Now there have been some great days of weather but let's just say I have grown very close with my rain gear! Normally I would tough it out but cold + rain + my new turtle pace = no fun! Hopefully it will clear by tonight since today is our first day back to the track...I LOVE the track!
What's the craziest weather you have run in?
I thought running the Boston Marathon in the middle of a Nor'easter was crazy but maybe you can beat it!!
Rain...makes you appreciate the sun...so much!
ReplyDeleteI had a training run in 30 mph winds - I literally was NOT MOVING. Also, I biked as a severe thunderstorm hit (it was just cloudy when I left) with lightening strikes so close I could feel the electricity. I've never been so scared in my life - or drenched. It actually took a couple days for my bike seat to dry out.
ReplyDeleteso far just crazy winds. the 10 mile i did on jan 1 back in KY was along the river and a storm was coming in so it was 30-40mph winds. i HATED IT! haha! so now i pretty much despise any wind!
ReplyDeleteI'll run a race in pretty much any conditions (worst was heavy downpours and very strong winds) but I'll usually bail or alter everyday runs based on weather!
ReplyDeleteHalf way through a 5k road race a severe thunder storm hit...I was only in HS at that point so I was scared to death. I know I ran as fast as I could to that finish line!!
ReplyDeleteHope it clears up for you! I have to say I'm pretty much a chicken when it comes to running in weather.
ReplyDeleteI went to a triathlon where they cancelled the bike portion due to the HIGH winds but even on the run part we were trying to draft and there were little rocks flying up and hitting us in the face. I've never been so happy to jump in the indoor pool :-)
ReplyDeleteI've run in all kinds of weather but never a monsoon or hurricane or tornado. Sleet, snow, pouring rain, hail, blizzards, thunderstorms, crazy humid heat... all those.
ReplyDeleteI'm boring...probably just rain! I've never ran in or seen snow, but I bet it would be a pretty cool and crazy experience! living near the coast, I'd probably have an opportunity to run in a hurricane, but don't think I'll attempt that any time soon!!! sorry about all the rain, hope it clears up soon!!
