Hope Endures Virtual 5k

Courtney over at A So Called Runner is hosting a virtual 5k in remembrance of her precious daughter Ashlyn.  You can read more about her story here.  Through all the sadness and pain that Courtney has endured through this loss, the part of her story that sticks with me the most is her strength.  This year I lost a child before I was ever able to see them.  If this hadn't happened, this month would mean our family welcoming another member.  Instead we are celebrating the HUGE blessing of our daughter Emma (who was born just before Christmas) and the amazing gift of the birth of our Savior.  We are making it a season of celebration!  Today I run for Ashlyn and for those families that will one day meet their children in heaven.  Thank you Courtney for your strength and for sharing it with all of us!

  1. Thanks for the link-- what a great reason to run, I just signed up! And I'm really sorry to hear of your loss, I didn't know this part of your story since I just "met" you... I've had many friends go through miscarriages, and it is heartbreaking. You have such a positive perspective-- and many blessings indeed!
