I saw this on Facebook the other day and thought it was perfect! How many of you have set a goal, a huge goal....lose 100lbs, run 50 miles, run a 5k, become a personal trainer, completely change your lifestyle, compete in a fitness competition...only to have your friends or family look at you like "Huh?" Their words say, "That's great!" but inside you know the challenge flag has been thrown. You need to prove to them you are made to do this and you will rock it!!! Believe in yourself and what amazing things you can do if you put your mind to it!!! It's out there waiting for you.....
What will you convince people you can do?
I'm sure Ashton Eaton had doubters when he said he was going to be the world's best athlete one day.....
Im such a misfit.
ReplyDeleteI dont care if other believe in me.
as long as I believe in me :-)
I LOVED watching Ashton nail the 1,500 the other day. How cool was that moment? Talk about motivating!
ReplyDeleteNice motivation.
ReplyDeleteFor me, running my first 5k was 0% about proving to others, and 100% about proving to MYSELF. Our own doubts and FEARS can also be motiving!
You doubt me? Just wait and see :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday Nancy!
I actually mentioned something like this in a post I wrote last week after my first 10-mile run. My mom thought I would get disappointed and quit when I was training for my first 5k. Now I'm 4 weeks away from my first half. It's been AMAZING to believe in myself and watch how many people follow suit. So I personally LOVE this post. <3
ReplyDeleteWay to go Melissa!!!
DeleteChallenge accepted! This is going to be a great week!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Nancy! I think a lot of us have family and friends that don't really get it... but the online community helps a lot!
ReplyDeleteLove this! So true, it totally motivates me when people look at me like I can't accomplish something. Bring it!
ReplyDeleteI agree 100% - don't doubt me!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I heard that a lot with my first marathon. Some people just don't get it.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Nancy! And watch Ashton this weekend was inspiring!
ReplyDeletei LOVE this! as soon as anyone expresses doubt it just fuels me even more! and seriously. Ashton=AMAZING.
ReplyDeleteOther people's doubt definitely adds fuel to my fire!
ReplyDeleteI love that fist quote. Isn't it SO true!? I mean we beat ourselves up for sure, but when someone else doubts us, we work even harder!
