New week...new day...new motivations to own this!! I will admit that lately I have been in a funky place with my motivation. No training plan and no race in sight has me floundering a bit about what to do. Today I am putting my foot down. This past weekend I spent 10 miles giving myself a "Put on your big girl panties and just move" speech and today I am waking up motivated. I don't have to be constantly training to own today...this week...this month! I have the freedom to do it all....and I will!! We all get into funks from time to time. Don't let it drag you down...keep you from living as the best version of yourself! Let's do this!!
Do you find yourself in funks between training cycles?
How do you get yourself refocused and going?
It's funny that I find myself semi following a training plan even in between plans. I don't even try it, my brain just automatically goes there!
ReplyDeleteI seem to be in a bit of a funk right now and it seems to take more motivation than normal to get my butt in gear! Usually I am on autopilot and just run, I am taking that as I sign I need to have a small running break and only run 3 times a week instead of 4 and cross train a little more
ReplyDeleteI have a put on your big girl panties speech too!
ReplyDelete(((SETTLES IN AND AWAITS SOMEONE TO GIVE HER THE BIG GIRL PANTIES SPEECH PLEASE))))
ReplyDeleteThose funks come- and sometimes a little extra rest is a really good thing to find that motivation again. Love your Monday motivation posts!
ReplyDeleteTotally! That's why I'm usually guilty of registering for the next race before I finish what I'm training for :)
ReplyDeleteMotivation lows after training is to be expected I think. Changing things up a bit in terms of my workouts usually helps jumpstart things for me. I know you'll find your groove soon.
ReplyDeleteYou have such an interesting blog. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed reading your posts. All the best for your future blogging journey.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean! I currently do not have any races on the calendar and my training is so-so. Plus the winter darkness doesn't really help things much!
