Monday Motivation-Dust off and Try Again!

Thank you so much for your kind encouragement from yesterday!  Honestly my first thought when I stopped was that I was going to let you all down!  Silly!  I will explain more in tomorrow's post but I think I can narrow it all down to a breakdown in fueling.....my nemesis!

Today is reserved for dusting myself off and trying again!  I allowed myself yesterday to wallow a bit but today it is time to put on my big girl pants and focus on the next race.  Martha's Vineyard isn't floating away and there is always next year....oh yeah and you better believe I will be there next year!  Life happens and sometimes your mind shows up but forgot to let your body know!  What makes a person successful is not falling and staying down but getting back up and trying again!  Saturday's race does not define me as a runner and I know that.  I knew I was ready...did the work...and I will do it again.  That is what we do....as runners....as fit people...as dieters....we give our all and try again when we fall!
Go out there and give this week your all!  Only you are keeping yourself from success!

  1. Great quote :) This is one of my favorite things about fitness: that there is always tomorrow. There's always a new goal. Always a chance to do better, go harder, go longer, and improve our performance.

  2. Awesome post. Ahhh...a fueling nemesis that I have known well in the past. Happy to hear there isn't an injury (not a physical one anyway) involved :)

    Great quote Nancy!

  4. Great attitude Fancy Nancy! We are hardest on ourselves in our quest of achievement, but often forget that most of the achievement is all the hard work we put in to get there. Love your honesty!

  5. Its harder to not finish a race and learn from what went wrong or heal yourself properly than it is to finish in pieces and not able to run for months because you have done yourself an injury. Keep this great attitude you have YOU ROCK xx

  9. Great attitude! So sorry. Race days are hard because you just don't know whats going to happen! You learn a lot from races...next time will be better.

It's funny how much your blog holds you accountable...I'm always surprised at how it does that to me.

Keep your great attitude, it will see you through!

  11. Such an inspiring quote. Fuelling? So glad it was not an injury.

I am just really learning and experimenting with fuel and hydration so I do hope you will share... but understand if you don't care to.

Hope you have a wonderful week, Nancy.

I still don't feel like I have a clue when it comes to fueling - sorry it got in the way, but I'm so glad it wasn't an injury.

  14. Very good quote! With running there's always another race and another run so we can always try again another day.
