I've noticed a similar theme going around here on the Monday Motivations....get out there and try something new even if it scares you!! Today I am starting a training plan with my sister who is setting out to run
ZOOMA Cape Cod 10K on September 22nd. We are heading to the track so the kids can play on the field while we run. I taped her training plan to her fridge and her first statement was "I can't....." My response was, "You can and you will!" Everything we do in life starts with a decision to try! While playing sports, my father used to always say, "Do your best and let God do the rest!" I know my sister will get there because I know she is going to try!!!
What are you going to try today?
You don't have to be great from the start....you just need to try!!!
Love the quote from your dad! So true!
ReplyDeleteI can find my calm. I will TRY to make it to yoga :)
ReplyDeleteok I WILL make it to yoga.
So great that your sister has YOU to help her along!
ReplyDeleteMy goal today is to be totally present ALL day for the kids.
The only way you can fail, is if you don't try!
ReplyDeleteWhen I read this I couldn't help but think of the Yoda quote "do or do not there is no try" :)
ReplyDeleteIf you don't at least try will you always wonder "what if?"
Last week the wheels fell off my training I had a bad fall on wed and just couldn't recover. This week it's get the mileage back up and DO YOGA! I need to stretch things out to feel better! Love this and Jill that is my favorite quote ever gotta love Yoda.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are helping your sister reach this goal (and the quote from your dad is awesome).
ReplyDeleteI'm going to do some yoga today. I need to stretch after 2 brick workouts this weekend.
It's terrific that you have this time with Amy and that the kids can hang in the midfield playing. Today is rest and hang with my mom:)
ReplyDeleteNancy, I love that you have inspired your sister to start running! I think that being an inspiration to someone else, no matter how it manifests, is one of the most rewarding and touching things that can happen to you! I hope that she ends up eventually loving running as much as you do!
ReplyDeleteI think it's great you're helping your sister with her training! Looking forward to meeting her at ZOOMA!
ReplyDeleteSince my run's done, I'm going to try to get all of my errands done before picking the kids up from camp :)
You're going to be a great motivator for your sister! I actually get to enjoy a rest day after my race yesterday, so I'm going to try and get the laundry done!!! : )
ReplyDeletethis honestly brought tears to my eyes. nothing makes me smile bigger than helping my siblings reach goals they never thought possible...or even when they push me to ones I never thought possible! what a wonderful experience to share together! i love this! have a blast! your sister WILL accomplish this! lately i have let some doubt creep in regarding my ability to do the 50. i dont know why it took this long to scare me but it finally hit me smack in the face this weekend and i have been trying to stay positive. i like this motivation monday post...i will NEVER know if I am capable unless I get out there and try my absolute best!
ReplyDeletemy sister finally got the approval to start working out again after having her baby (aka cutest nephew ever) and i'm so excited for us to motivate each other again. i love this post. you're a good sis!
ReplyDeleteAwesome quote. I'm going to try to be still and relax more often rather than feel like I need to always be doing something.
ReplyDeleteI finally got my schedule in order and am working on ChaLEAN, it took me a few weeks but I am hoping this is finally the groove I needed!! yah for monday motivation!
