Monday Motivation

Lately around these parts it has been colder than Alaska....let me let that sink in...my seaside town in MASSACHUSETTS is colder than friggin ALASKA!  No offense meant to people in Alaska but you pretty much know what you're signing up for if you live there...dark, cold winters and moose!  I feel like this kind of weather separates running...those who head indoors until the Groundhog gives his OK and those who bundle up like Nanook of the North and hit the road.  I'm the second.  This past weekend I was up teaching just outside Boston and was able to join my BRF Jill in our crazy running quests...Jill is training for the London Marathon.  It was stupid cold...like my eyes water and freeze cold...with wind to add a little flavor to the morning!  By myself this would have been horrid but with Jill and I running step in step it was an hour and half of catching up on life and laughing!  It had me thinking....about those who wait...about waiting for the perfect conditions to start something...the perfect time...the perfect temp.  One thing running has taught me is that you can't wait!  You never know what Mother Nature is going to gift you on that day so you need to have experience running in anything!  This quote is so true with so much of my life.  If I wait for it all to line up perfectly...I would still be waiting!!!
What have you been waiting to do until the stars aline perfectly?
GO DO IT!!!
I couldn't resist!!

  1. I think my cold weather running card is going to be revoked soon. I've yet to run outside in anything less than 20. Tropical, yes?

  3. usually once you get out there and get warmed up it isn't so bad anyway, although if it's super windy I admit to thinking twice about lacing my shoes up, I hate really windy runs when it is cold out.

  4. I wanted to run on Saturday too because it was the "warm" day - but too much on my plate. It was treadmill Sunday with negative feels-like temps here. Negative is TOO cold for me ;)

  6. I am so tired of the bitter cold! Thankfully it was 30 this morning so I took advantage and got outside....otherwise, I'm been doing a lot more treadmill running than I like. Good for you for getting out there regardless!

  7. You are a BAMR! We have another snow day tomorrow and I really think I'm going to try a run. I have that stupid trail race Saturday night so I might as well try to figure out what to wear to keep from freezing to death.
