Three Things Thursday

It's random Three Things Thursday!!!  While I could think of way more than three things to talk about today with a pending birthday party this weekend and what seems like a million life bumps...I'll stick to three!

1.  12/12/12...Yesterday was as you all know a very special day!
Oh wait....not a New England fan....well then I guess it wasn't anything special for you then!  To celebrate the day I hunkered down in the basement and ran a 12k.  I had speed work on tap so I used Blonde Ponytail's "Boredom Buster" Treadmill workout and wow!  You're not bored because you are trying so hard to either breathe or not fall off the treadmill!!  12k done and thanks for the pic Pavement Runner!
2.  Twin babies...So many people have told me that they have so many less pictures of their second than they did their first.  Well I think that I have found a solution to that over here!  You see I believe I have twin babies....3 years apart!  Just take a look!
I'm excited to see as they both grow up if they'll still look so much alike!!!
3.  Winter running musts...Doing some research and would love your feedback on this for all you cold weather runners.
What is your winter running necessity?  What do you absolutely need to have or do to survive running outside in the winter?

  2. Aw, your babies are too cute :) Hope all is going well with THAT jugging act!!

I'm ALWAYS cold, so extra layers all over are a necessity. But if I had to choose one thing: face mask.

    Nice job on the 12K!

  3. I need mittens - not gloves! And they have to be really warm - my hands are always the first things to get too cold.

I have twins born 6 years apart and the younger one hardly has any pics! Thanks for the solution!! HAHA

  4. I have a Nike Pro Combat Compression shirt that has a tiny layer of fleece inside. It's about the same thickness as my cold weather running tights. When it is even below freezing outside, I don't need any other layers. Love it!

  5. I need to have warm tights and a good running jacket for running outside.

  6. OK, this is the third time that I've heard someone mention Jess' treadmill workout this morning. I will have to check it out. I'm looking for a new winter running jacket! I need a thin hat and gloves for sure otherwise i'm miserable. And nice cozy running tights.

  7. My Saucony running mittens are my must haves once it gets really cold out - they keep my hands nice and toasty!

  8. Sweet pics of your baby girls! It will be interesting to watch the resemblance as they get older, like you said!

For me in Maryland, it never gets all that horribly cold, so winter clothing isn't a huge deal. But I do love my YakTrax for when it gets icy or snowy--anything to keep me outside!

  10. Amazing how much your babies look alike! People ask me if my boys are twins (the two oldest)..even though they are 2 years apart!

I like my tights for winter running- and a pair of running gloves :)

  11. Cute babies!

Running gloves are essential. I also have a collection of tanks with built in bras that I wear instead of running bras when I need extra warmth around my belly.

  15. As I recently learned and have started searching for running mittens. I tried Chad's one morning on our run date and they work like a charm. So much better than gloves. Silly man thinks he should be allowed to use his mittens...haha...I'm still trying to find a pair of my own.
