Monday Motivation

There are no secret quick fixes...shortcuts to speed...shortcuts to weight loss...shortcuts to strength.  There is work...there is dedication...there is determination to get to your destination.  This journey back after having our second child has been work...hard work...but it takes getting up every day and making a choice to work knowing that one day I will get to the place I'm going!  There are no shortcuts...but in the end would I really want them?
Would you take the shortcut if it was there?

  1. No one gets anywhere with short cuts. Unless you are driving. :) The long road is what builds the character and determination to succeed. Great reminder Nancy!

  3. Umm... well yes honestly I would. I certainly haven't regretted a minute of the last 10 years of running, but hey if I could be faster overnight, I'd probably take it :) I just wouldn't appreciate in the same way as the things i've worked so hard for

  4. I have been doing this over 30+ years & I know how hard it is to maintain for that long & with age so to be very honest -yes, if there was a way to make it a bit easier, I would cause it is hard work - yes worth it but HARD! :)

  5. It does take a lot of hard work!! For the most part, I wouldn't take the short cut because for me, the journey and the process often reveals so much than just getting to the end.

  7. Honestly, it would be hard to pass on a short cut, but if I knew it would be bad for me, I would easily choose not to use it!

  8. Some days I feel like I would like a shortcut but in the long run I know that the journey and discovery along the way is just as important as the end result. Our second child is now 15-months and I am still on my journey back to who I was physically but it's all been worth it!

  10. No.
I mean, maybe to an awesome six pack on my stomach ;)
But seriously, I love working out for the sake of working out. My gains are simply an awesome bonus, so no, I wouldn't want a short cut

  11. shortcuts are tempting but in the long run don't really get you as far anyway. especially diet shortcuts in my opinion. better to put in the work and eat the good/real food. I am not a fan of shake diets

  14. No shortcuts for me! It's all about putting in tons of hard work. When you put in a lot of hard work there is definitely more to be proud of when goals are met!
