I have been running the same 5 mile loop for many years now. It winds through very nice neighborhoods with huge mansions on one side and the ocean on the other. You can't help but be happy watching the sun come up over the ocean while you run. I make it a habit to pick out the houses I would buy if I ever won the Powerball! There are a lot of runners and bikers that follow the same loop. It is full of rolling hills and can be quite a challenge! I began to notice the other day the difference between the bikers and runners on this loop. Runners will always look at you, do a little wave and at least grunt a hello. Bikers on the other hand can't even look at you let alone say hi! Now granted by the time I see many of these bikers it is after a few hills and I am ready to tackle them and steal their bike but really! I know many pepole who bike and they seem very nice. Is there a hidden code between runners to say hi that bikers don't have? Just curious!
Hey Nancy! Thanks for following my blog! The runner/biker thing reminds me of the skiier/snowboarder clash back in Vermont where I grew up, LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my blog! I totally agree - bikers are not as friendly as runners!
ReplyDeleteI'm in a similar place as you, trying to lose my +5 pounds from baby born in Feb + 5 more from pre-pregnancy. And I'm trying to eat clean to do so. I'll be reading to see how you are doing!
Bikers. Ugh. I'm on a campaign to get cyclists to like runners. I'm not doing so well. I think we annoy them because we are so slow and can sometimes be trail hogs and unpredictable. My theory is this, we are ALL just trying to be fit. Shout out that you are coming up and I'll move. I promise! :o)
