It's a List Kind of Day!

Another year is here and another year I am racing around like a wack-o getting everything done!  So what's Fancy Nancy to do when life gets crazy on her.....MAKE A LIST!!!
  • I got an exciting email from Jill confirming that I am part of her 12 in 2012!!!  I am so excited to be part of this challenge!  I came up with my race schedule (shocked just how many half marathons are happening within 1/2 hour of me) for 2012.....let the running begin!
  • Sketching out princess decorations and favors....any ideas?
  • Fighting a huge case of Mommy guilt.....poor Em is having some potty issues and is so worried that she will disappoint Santa if she goes poop in her pull-up.  In the meantime she is in pain trying to hold it in!  Way to go Super Mom for stressing out your daughter!  Last night she only wanted to snuggle on the couch and talk about the Christmas tree.  Then she said she wanted me there when the sun came up (aka don't go to work).  Well tear out my heart.....
  • Got a major migraine last night that has decided to hang around today!  Praying I still get in my run this afternoon even though it feels my head may fall off!
  • I love the blogging community.....seriously you all inspire me about your amazing goals you have accomplished!  Take this month by storm!
  • Every year I say I am going to get my shopping done early....yeah not so much.  Maybe next year!
  • Have to end on a positive.....through all this stress I am celebrating the major victory of not turning to food (mainly sugar) to sooth me!  Even managed to throw away the bark that was hanging around....couldn't have it in my face taunting me!!
  • Auntie of the year award goes out to my AMAZING sister Amy who saves my ass daily!!!  Yesterday she not only ran out and found a blue vacuum for Em (she mentioned she wanted one yesterday....see above Mommy guilt I would have bought her a friggin pony!) but she also played the role of Mrs. Claus and Uncle Matt was Santa when I called asking if it would be ok with him if Em went potty in her pull up!  Thanks Amy!!!!
How do you deal with stress?  I know I'm not the only one who has 80% of her shopping still to do!

  1. Yes, I am definitely a list person too--that helps me create a sense of control when I'm stressed! And I get the mommy-guilt...it's so hard to be everything to everyone, especially this time of year. Glad you have aunt amy to help out!

  3. Ah, stress. Guilt. These things sound familiar. I blog. Blogging or writing them down somewhere usually helps. I can usually determine the level of stress by how many sticky notes i have scattered on my counters with TO DO lists. :) Your little girl sounds so sweet. That poop thing...tricky. You sound like a great mom...get rid of that guilt. :) This was the first year that I actually got online and did some shopping for Black Friday. Otherwise, I'm a last minute person. Hope you have a GREAT day. Thinking of you. AFter this week are you on break?

  5. Thankfully my shopping is about done! It bothers me to much if I wait till the last minute. Sadly, I usually eat when I'm stressed. Not good...something I definitely need to work on.

  6. Nancy you know how I love a list - so I'm right there with ya!

Psyched you found so many half marathons in the area - please share I'm still figuring out my 2012 (and would love to meet up!)

Try not to let the mommy guilt get you - potty training's hard!

  10. oh i definitely have ALL my shopping still to do. and NO ideas on what to get anyone :) i am so excited for you to do the 12 in 12! and of course pumped to follow you as you do it! when i am stressed i normally try to read or remind myself to take a few minutes for myself...even if it is just a very few. but i will admit i indulge in sweets maybe too much as well...but i am glad that as of late, a good run has been my first instinct for stress relief rather than food. :) hope things calm down for you! and good luck with your shopping!

  11. Kudos for not turning to bad food for comfort! It's so easy to do that, especially now! I am feeling the stress, too. But I have the lists made and am making sure I can finish off all the shopping this week. That will help.

  13. the blue vacuum sounds so cute!! Love the 12 races idea also, and we are having potty training issues here - Nick will go poop on the potty but not pee - how do I do it?? Not sure how to move on to the next step. Anyway, hang in there. And also, can you shoot me an email about the LA 1/2 (natalie.avioli at gmail)

  14. awesome that you are doing the 12 for 12, wish I could commit to that but I am just not ready!

potty training is mom guilt to the max, I sure hope you all get a break from it, or it "completes" soon.
