Fitness Friday...Keeping Motivation Handy

Here we are now into the second week of January.  We've set our goals and are on our way!!  For me I sometimes have a hard time keeping my eyes on the prize.  For whatever reasons this year I will be honest and admit that I am having a hard time getting myself going with my running goals.  I have been doing well with my kettlebell workouts 3 times a week (on my quest to Sarah Jessica Parker arms!) but I'm having a hard time motivating myself to descend into the basement and get on the mill!  I've been procrastinating in the mornings and end up having to do my runs at 8pm...which is not fun in the least!  I want to be hanging out with my hubby then, not sweating it out in the basement!  The other day I saw this quote from MilePost app:

It got me thinking about doing a few things around the house to keep motivation handy...to have kind reminders of the benefits of running and getting in my workouts before the sun comes up not after it goes down!!  Jill at Fitness, Health and Happiness has written a lot about motivation boards.  I even blogged about it last year and actually have all the things to put one together!  I need visuals around the house right now (I'm sure my hubby will be psyched with the new home decor) to remind me of my goals and where I want to go!  Here are some examples I found....

Basically I need to go old school like I did in middle school...break out my rubber cement and get cutting and gluing!!!  Keeping motivation handy I know will help to get me in the right direction....toward the treadmill and away from the warm, comfy couch!!  I'm keeping myself in check for this and promise that on Monday part of my post will be at least one vision/motivation board!!!  You all better keep me accountable!!

Have you ever made a vision/motivation board?  What types of images/words would you put on yours today?

  4. I think I'd go old school with a vision board, too. Although I don't get any magazines, so I don't know where I'd get the pictures! :-)

    Yay for Fitfluential!

  5. I sort of have a visual motivation board, one of my biggest motivators is just to put on my favorite jeans.. they fit great means good motivation to keep it that way, getting snug means kick it up a notch!
